 A DEEP SUMMARY(ADS) ON.... PRAISE AND WORSHIP....(5)

Praise JESUS!
I am so grateful to God as we are able to have this wonderful opportunity to learn on our next subtopic that is THE POWER OF PRAISE!
I am exited already to know what really happens when we praise.
The bible says in Psalm 22:3  But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]. AMP
God dwells in praises! You can imagine how much power is in there where God Himself is present....!

THE POWER OF PRAISE!!
Concerning the power of praise, I want us to look at these two areas

  1. Praise is like a weapon in warfare.
  2. In praise there is power of transformation
1. Praise as a weapon
As Christians, we are like in a battle field here on earth. The bible says in Ephesians  6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.NIV

We do not do the physical fight but we can fight in the spirit and one the greatest weapon is PRAISE!
We do not praise God in our circumstances so that He helps us out, but we praise Him because He is worthy of the praises and our problems can not hinder us from praising Him as He has promise us that in all things, He works for the good of those who loves Him. (Romans 8:28)

Let us take the example of Apostle Paul and Silas when they were in jail, we find this story from the book of Acts chapter 16. When they praised God, His presence covers us and fills the place. We all know that Paul is a man of God and the presence of God was with Him I can say God's presence was ALWAYS with him and still he was jailed. But in the act of praising God, all the chains that were holding him could no longer stand that awesome manifestation of the presence of God!

The other example I want us to look at is from 2 Chronicles chapter 20. We find that when the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to make war on Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat inquired from the LORD. The LORD said in 2 Chronicles 20:15......'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. NIV When it reaches a point you come to know the battle you have is not yours, you will PRAISE God and that is what Jehoshaphat did if you continue reading the story and God took care of His battle! HALLELUJAH!

2. In praise there is power of transformation
There is no one who praises God and remains the same! You might not sense the transformation at the very particular moment but you are being transformed. We are being taken from glory to glory. I want us to consider a number of things that happens when we praise!

  • When we praise, we focus not on our problems but on God's greatness! we magnify God!
  • When we magnify God, we humble ourselves before Him!
  • Praise reveals our devotion to God
  • Increases our joy like the apostle Paul, He could confidently tell the Philippians  in Philippians 4:4 'Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!' NIV because he a man of praise!
  • Elevates our emotions. Instead of worrying, fearing or having doubts, when you praise, all that wont have room in you!

I pray that this lesson blesses and encourages you to live a life of PRAISE!!! AMEN......!!!
